Albert (Junior) Stowe

Floyd StreetAlbert (Junior) Stowe of Social Circle, passed away peacefully at his home, October 19, 2010, at the age of 81. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served in Guam, the Philippines, and Taiwan. Mr. Stowe was a faithful member of Cornish Mountain Baptist Church, as well as a member of the Dawson Masonic Lodge #68 in Social Circle. He enjoyed dancing and cooking barbeque for his family and friends. Mr. Stowe was a hard working and caring husband, father, and grandfather, and was always considered dependable by everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert N. Sr., and Ida Mae (Odum) Stowe, and 13 siblings. Survivors include his loving wife, Christine H. Stowe of Social Circle; children, Janice S. and Frank Hewatt of Monroe, Wain Stowe of Covington, Randall and Harriette Stowe of Oxford, Doug and Tina Peters of Social Circle, Deborah and Steve Powers of Monroe; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Stowe will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010, 3:00 PM, at Cornish Mountain Baptist Church, with Pastor Jerry Barrett and Rev. Lynn Head officiating, and interment following in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Wednesday, October 20, from 6-8 PM.
