Albert Clinton “Red” McDowell
Albert Clinton “Red” McDowell, 89, entered Glory April 3, 2024, at Brightmoor Hospice. He was born May 10, 1934, in Coweta County, the son of Albert Martin McDowell (9/21/87) and Susie Crumbley McDowell (9/9/82). Red went through the 8 th grade, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea in 56-58. While in the service he started writing letters to Nancy who was rooming with his cousin in Atlanta. Once he came home in August of 1958 they started dating and he proposed in April of 59 and they married-on August 22 nd 1959 in Nancy’s hometown of Franklin NC. Red was a Union Carpenter and even after retirement he still enjoyed woodworking and making odds and ends for family and friends. In addition to his parents Albert Martin McDowell and Susie Crumbley, he was predeceased by brothers: Thomas, Robert “Bobby” (Sarah), (Linda), and James. Surviving in addition to his Wife: Nancy, are his Brother: Jerome, sister-in-law: Joyce. Sons:
Michael (Felica), Scott (Lisa) Granddaughters: Krystin McDonald (Ryan). Mary Cathrine Ozburn (David) Great Grands: Kylee-Grace and Walker McDonald along with numerous nieces and nephews as well as friends and neighbors that have become family.
A celebration will be held at Caldwell and Cowan at 2pm on Sunday April 7, 2024. In lieu of flowers the family request for donations to be made to Brightmoor Hospice in Conyers, GA where Red was taken such good care of.
