Allen Talmadge Freeman,

Allen Talmadge Freeman, Sr. passed away December 13, 2011, at his home in Mansfield. He was 85 years old at the time of his death. Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Freeman; his second wife, Evelyn L. Freeman; daughter, Carol Rogers; son, Allen Freeman, Jr.; and his parents, Claude Odell and Sarah Josephine (Colquitt) Freeman. Mr. Allen enjoyed being outside gardening and working in the yard. He also enjoyed fishing, and had a special love for animals. He loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and George Martin of Lawtey, FL; son, Claude Jeffery Freeman of Mansfield; grandchildren, Niki Karr, Trey Freeman, Shawna Sherrill, Betty Huddard, Garielle Crapse, Sherah Martin, Carol Ann Martin, Alexandra Martin; step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Jennifer and Jamie Peek; 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James and Jean Freeman of NC.
Funeral Services for Mr. Freeman will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 16, 2011, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Rev. George Martin officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, December 15, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
