Alma Beasley

Floyd StreetAlma Beasley of Covington, passed away at her home, January 2, 2013. Mrs. Beasley was born June 28, 1921, in Lumpkin County, to the late Wesley and Izabel (Garrett) Satterfield. A former resident of DeKalb County for 45 years, Mrs. Beasley has been a resident of Newton County for the past 23 years. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church, in DeKalb County. She enjoyed gardening, canning her vegetables, planting flowers, working in her yard, quilting, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Beasley; sons, Harold Beasley, Danny Beasley; and her sister, Maude Carder.Mrs. Beasley is survived by her daughters, Mildred Steele of Stone Mountain, Frances Crowe of Conyers, Kathy Scott of Covington, Linda Fitzgerald of Douglasville; son, Larry Beasley of Goose Creek, SC; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Beasley will be held Saturday, January 5, 2013, 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens, in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, January 4, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
