Aubrey Walker of Social Circle, passed away October 8, 2012, at the age of 71. Mr. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church of Social Circle. He was the owner of Walker Farms, where he raised and showed Appaloosa horses. He loved hunting, farming, and vacationing with his family, but above all, Mr. Walker enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren - the true lights of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thomas and Mary Bessie (Snider) Walker.
Survivors include the love of his life, and wife of 51 years, Ponda Faye Walker; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Audra Walker; granddaughters, Savannah Lee Walker, Madison Rose Walker, all of Social Circle; brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Dianne Walker of Sandersville; nephews, Patrick Walker of Memphis, TN, Brian Walker of Atlanta; nieces, Brenna Coggins, Kerri Shelton, both of Social Circle; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Leonard Williford of Social Circle; great-nieces, Kaylee Coggins, Megan Coggins, both of Social Circle; great-nephew, Thomas C. Walker of Memphis, TN; special extended family members, Lynn Pulliam of Mitchell, GA, Ron and Nancy Stamey of New Smyrna Beach, FL.
Funeral Services for Mr. Walker will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012, 11:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Social Circle, with Rev. Mike Hardy officiating and guest speakers, Governor and Mrs. Joe Frank Harris, and interment following in The Town of Mitchell Cemetery, in Mitchell, GA. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Wednesday, October 10, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
