Aubrey "Eddie" Willis, Jr. of Oxford, passed away August 16, 2018, at the age of 87. Mr. Willis proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a faithful member of Corinth Christian Church. A former Mason of the Chamblee Sardis Lodge, Mr. Willis was raised in September 1970. In his spare time, he had a passion for restoring classic automobiles. Mr. Willis was a former co-owner and operator of Willis Contracting Company Incorporated. He loved and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Mr. Willis will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Darline Marie Willis; wife, Wellovee Willis; parents, Aubrey E. and Louise Willis; brothers, Jackie Willis, and Stanley Smith.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lauran Willis; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky Willis and Jaime Barboza, Cheryl and Terry Turner; grandchildren and spouses, Monica and John Dallas, Amanda and Steven Walpole, Shawn and Cori Stubbs, Michael and Kristin Willis, Kenny and Alanna Chambers, Aubrey and Heather Savage, Ashley Turner and fiancé, Chris Myers; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Willis will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Pastor Don Hardison officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, Friday, August 17, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
