Barbara Dimple Crawford, 88, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Born on January 6, 1936, Barbara was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend. She was a woman of deep faith, with a love for her church and a passionate devotion to Jesus. She took pride in her heritage; her family was the center of her life, and she showered them with unconditional love.
Barbara had a heart full of joy for life's simple pleasures—the color blue, gardening, bird watching, and her beloved home, which she adored and took great pride in. Barbara was always on the lookout for treasures and loved spending time going to yard sales.
Barbara’s kindness and generosity extended far beyond her family. She was a great friend, always treating others like family, making everyone who entered her life feel loved and valued. A true servant, she lived her life with grace and humility, always extending hospitality and kindness to those around her with her famous cornbread, home grown tomatoes and fried okra.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, the love of her life, Raburn Crawford; her parents, Dennis Walter Baker and Dorothy Lee Baker; her brothers, Jimmy Baker and Raymond Baker; daughter-in-laws Dee Crawford and Angie Wilson; and grandchildren Dylan Crawford and Molly Bates; in-laws Elsie Holder, Eloise Sherod, Evelyn Holder, Robert Crawford, Wallace Crawford, Monta Crawford, Gary Crawford.
She is survived by her children: Terry Crawford, Linda Crawford Bates (Jeff), Steven Crawford, and Susan Mitchell (Larry); her grandchildren: Kim Smith (Wes), Tiffany Hale (Kyle), Chad Crawford (Alex), Jason Vaughn (Jessica), Jessica Wilson (Brantley), Justin Vaughn, Morgan Bates, Carly Robinette (Justin), Martin Mitchell (Kourtney); 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, Siblings: Ted Baker (Linda), Shirley Baker, Shirley Smith, Nevin Baker (Mary Alice) Joyce Burnette (OL), Jean Hudson (Billy), Gary Baker (Miriam), Brenda Armistead (Gary); and her in-laws, Edward Crawford Sr., Karen Crawford, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s legacy will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched with her love, hospitality, and quick wit. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered as a blessing to all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her name to Solid Rock Church.
A funeral service will take place on January 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Solid Rock Church, located at 70 Social Circle Rd, Social Circle, GA 30025 with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating. Lunch will be provided after the service. Burial will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014. Family and friends are invited to visit during the viewing on 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Solid Rock Church.
