Barbara Long

Barbara Long of Porterdale, passed away February 6, 2015, at the age of 80. Mrs. Long was excellent seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting, camping and fishing. Mrs. Long was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Mrs. Long will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Estelle Taylor Dunevent; daughter, Glenda Marie Long; son, Virgil Lee (Rip) Long, Jr.; granddaughters, Monica Long and Gina Glass; great-granddaughter, Zoey Jones.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil Lee (Bud) Long, Sr.; daughters, Annette Durden of Covington, Juanita Strickland of Birmingham, Al, Vicki Milligan of Covington; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Minnie Bell Wheeler of Conyers; sister-in-law, Dolores Maddox of Buford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Long will be held Monday, February 9, 2015, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Floyd Street Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Pastor Kenneth Morrell officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
