It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barron Scott Thompson, a beloved father, brother, and friend. Born on Friday, January 19, 1962, in Covington, Newton, Georgia, Barron peacefully departed this world on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at his residence in Fayetteville, GA. Barron was a and a dedicated line operator at Bridgestone, where he faithfully worked for many years. Known for his kind spirit and hearty laugh, Barron was a man who valued the simple pleasures in life. Whether spending a weekend fishing at the lake or enjoying his unique snack of peanuts in a cold Coke, Barron lived by his favorite saying, "It is what it is." His love for his family was the guiding force in his life and enjoyed listening to old country music. He is lovingly survived by his devoted daughters, Sharon Thompson, and Sheree Thompson and Sarah Thompson, as well as his brother, Myron Thompson, and his dear uncle, Douglas Eugene Thompson of Monroe, GA. Barron was preceded in death by his caring parents, Jesse Hershel Thompson and Vera Beth Thompson, who welcomed him with open arms into the afterlife.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation at the Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington, Georgia, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home for their support and assistance with arrangements during this difficult time. Barron's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
