Floyd StreetBen R. Vossler of Newborn, passed away September 25, 2010, at the age of 74. Mr. Vossler attended Houghton College in New York for several years, Braden School of Welding in Pennsylvania, and went to technical school for operation and repair of heavy equipment. He enjoyed working with his father in the oil well drilling business in both New York and Pennsylvania. He farmed for many years, and enjoyed sharing his crops and livestock with friends and family. In addition to farming, he also raised fields of blueberries. Mr. Vossler enjoyed gardening, loved to read, and had a fantastic memory. He enjoyed reading his Bible, and attending Faith Baptist Church, in Covington, where he loved to fellowship with his church family and friends. He was a true friend, and always helped anyone in need. Mr. Vossler was preceded in death by two wives, Barbara Brown Vossler, Constance "Connie" Perry Vossler; and his parents, Arthur Erwin and Rose Lillian (Johnston) Vossler. Survivors include his wife, Dorothea (Hopewell) Vossler of Newborn; daughter, Kathy Simmons of AR; son, Edwin Vossler of PA; daughters, Rose Marie Vossler, Kelly Vossler, both of PA; sons, Clay Vossler of PA, Michael Vossler of FL; step-daughters, Sylvia Zobel, Barbara Brown, Tina Cornell, all of NY, Kathy Moran of GA, Cindy Lloyd of PA, Janine Ellington, Nathane Morgan, both of NY; step-sons, Randy Stanley of PA, Thomas Stanley of GA, Kirby Perry of NY, Shawn Perry of PA, Leon Perry of NY; sister, Carolyn Bindon of Novi, MI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; best friend and cousin, Dale Vossler. Funeral Services for Mr. Vossler will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, with Pastor Michael Scott officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, from 12-2 PM. The committal service for Mr. Vossler will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Bowler Memorial Cemetery, in Little Genesee, New York.
