Bernice Mcclurg

Bernice McClurg, of Social Circle, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the age of 89. Mrs. McClurg was a faithful member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed embroidering, tending to her vegetable and flower garden, reading, and going antiquing. Mrs. McClurg will be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray McClurg; parents, Herman Mark and Lena Johnson; as well as her three siblings.

Survivors include her daughters, Denise Perkins (Steve), Becky Poling (Neil), Carolyn Frederick (Larry), Tricia Shull (Jamie); son, Mark McClurg (Lisa); 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. McClurg will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 10:30 A.M., at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at https://www.mda.org/ in honor of her granddaughter.
