Betty Jean Denton

Betty Jean Denton, of Covington, passed away on November 9, 2013, at the age of 86. She was a dedicated mother who cherished her family. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her flowers. Mrs. Denton was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Doyle Denton; parents, Mary and Floyd Beard; brothers, Floyd Beard, Jr., Robert James Beard.

Survivors include her children, Gloria Gilmer of Cordele, Carol Gilmer Cook of Leesburg, Noel H. Keller of Covington, Joseph A. and Celia Herman of Old Town, FL, Joy Denton Ethridge of Monticello, Larry R. Denton of Covington; sisters, Rebecca Hillhouse, Jessie Mae Rolison; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Denton will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013, 11:00 AM, at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Monday, November 11, from 4-7 PM.
