Betty Gibbs Goins

Betty Gibbs Goins of Newborn, passed away November 21, 2017, at 87 years of age. A member of Covington First Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Goins enjoyed being outside working in her yard. "Bebe", as she was affectionately called by her children and grandchildren, especially cherished the time she spent caring for her grandchildren and watching them as they participated in sports activities. Mrs. Goins will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion W. Goins; infant daughter, Pamela Elaine Goins; parents, Herman Anderson, Sr., and Allie Bell (Young) Gibbs; brothers, Herman Anderson (Jack) Gibbs, Jr., and Dan Gibbs.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Earnie Wright of Newborn; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Sherryl Goins of Covington; grandchildren, Phillip Goins, Jr., Jacob Wright, Samuel Wright; great-grandchildren Ashely Goins and Stephanie Goins; brother, W. D. "Dee" Gibbs; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Goins will be held Monday, November 27, 2017, 10:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Dr. William B. Wade, Jr., officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Chapel Mausoleum in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, November 26, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or contributions in memory of Mrs. Goins may be made to American Cancer Society, 105 Westpark Drive, Suite C, Athens, GA 30606, or, Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
