Betty J. Mallett

Betty J. Mallett, of Covington, passed away on January 10, 2014, at the age of 82. A homemaker and mother of three, she loved her family dearly. She volunteered with the Hospital Axillary and was involved with the Women's Club and PTA. She enjoyed amateur art and gardening. Mrs. Mallett was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Lelia (Harrison) Martin; brothers, Wayne H. Martin and James Martin.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Baxley Mallett; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen B. Mallett, Jr. and Pamela J. Etu, William T. and Candace Mallett, Edward D. and Georgiana Mallett; grandchildren, April Mallett, Peter Mallett, Daniel Mallett, David Mallett, Chris Mallett; great-granddaughter, Maddie Cournoyer.

A graveside service for Mrs. Mallett will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington, with Dr. Susan Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, Tuesday, January 14, from 5:00 to 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Starrsville United Methodist Church, 2786 Dixie Road, Covington, Georgia, 30014.
