Beverly Duckett Parkes of Covington, passed away July 17, 2017, at 65 years of age. Born to Richard Lee and Nellie Ruth (Hyatt) Duckett, who have preceded her in death, Ms. Parkes was a member of CrossRoads Baptist Church in Social Circle, as well as Porterdale Girls Reconnect. She was known for her baking and cooking skills and her amazing gift as a caregiver. Armed with a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor, Ms. Parkes could light up any room she entered. Her grandchildren were the center of her world and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Ms. Parkes was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Wayne Duckett, Gary Duckett.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and James Huggins, Ashley and Charles Wheeler; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Lisa, Daniel, Jacob; sisters, Brenda Duckett, Tina Stump; brother, Jerry Duckett; special friend, Ricky Bates; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Ms. Parkes will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Rd., Covington, with Rev. Brandon Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday, July 19, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
