Billy Banks, of Covington, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the age of 88. Mr. Banks was a lifelong resident of Newton County where he was a faithful member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church. He retired from Mobil Chemical Company after several dedicated years. Mr. Banks enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and drag racing in his younger years. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Bessie Banks.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, June Banks; son, Tommy Banks; grandsons, Chad Banks, Brad Banks; as well as great-grandchildren, Lexie Banks, Easton Banks.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Banks will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022, 3:00 P.M., at Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, 3 Cotton Street, in Porterdale, with Pastor Roger Cato and Bill Norton officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, Arms of Love Ministry, in memory of Billy Banks.
