Birdie Louise Watson, of Covington, passed away December 24, 2013, at the age of 82. She loved playing Bingo at Kroger and eating at Chick-Fil-A. She enjoyed traveling with the Porterdale Women's club and attending church at Christ Cornerstone Church. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Watson; parents, Ira and Maudie Parkes; sister, Betty Allgood; brothers, Joe Parkes and Carlton Parkes.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Ricky Allgood of Rutledge, Vickie and Donnie Hamlin of Covington; special friend, Glenn Christian; grandchildren, Michael Allgood, Rodney Allgood, Scott Allgood, Melissa Howle, Donnie Hamlin, Jr., Cindy Hamlin; great-grandchildren, Emily, Kaylee, Zachary, Mary Kate, Sadie, Zoe, Katie, Hannah, Noah, Hunter, Casey; sister, Nettie Skinner of Covington; nephews, Danny Parkes, Larry Skinner and Robin Skinner.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Watson will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Rev. Wilburn M. Hill officiating, and interment following in Porterdale Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, December 27, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
