Bobby Joe Stoker, of Oxford, GA, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019, at 80 years of age. Active in the life of his church, Mr. Stoker was a dedicated parishioner and supportive member of Newton Baptist Church in Covington. He was known for his tireless work ethic and his love of being outdoors. Mr. Stoker's favorite way to spend time outside was working in the yard, making certain it was pristine and well-maintained. His other great passion was rebuilding sports cars. Mr. Stoker will be remembered as a caring and attentive husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Denise Stoker; and parents, Roy and Louise (Toddy) Stoker.
Left to cherish Mr. Stoker's memory as a loving family man is his wife of 54 years, Linda Stoker; daughters and sons-in-law, Cynthia and Mark Charbonneau; Lynne and David Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Lorna Stoker; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Stoker will be held Tuesday, October 15, 2019, 11:00 A.M., at Newton Baptist Church, 720 Jack Neely Road, in Covington, with Pastor Tony Howeth officiating. Interment will be held in Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Township, Michigan. Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday, October 14, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Newton Baptist Church, Attn: Missions Fund.
