Brenda A. Garner

Brenda A. Garner of Covington, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at the age of 73. Mrs. Garner taught at Tabernacle Christian School, but for most of her working career, she dedicated 28 years of service to K-Mart before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening and reading romance and mystery novels. Mrs. Garner was known for getting from place to place in her car very quickly. She was a loving and devoted wife as well as a dedicated mother and grandmother. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Armistead and Mary (Sims) Armistead.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James L. Garner; daughter, Joyceanne Tedder; son, Scott Garner and Jeff Morton; grandchildren, Travis Tedder, Chase Tedder, Belle Floyd; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Hinton, Patricia Armistead, Katherine and Bob Kirkus; brothers and sister-in-law, Gary and Brenda Armistead, Russell Armistead; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Garner will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington with Rev. Tommy Harris officiating. Friends may visit with the family, at the funeral home, two hours prior before her service, from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, 3395 NE Expressway, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30341.
