Brenda L. Hamby

Access RoadBrenda L. Hamby of Covington, passed away May 31, 2012, at the age of 64. She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, in Conyers, where she was very active in the Stephen Ministry, and was also an assistant Sunday school teacher for several years. Mrs. Hamby worked in the insurance business for 25 years, while serving as a commercial agent with Bates Insurance for 16 years. She enjoyed embroidery, flower gardening, entertaining her family and friends, and traveling to the mountains. Most recently, Mrs. Hamby enjoyed spending her time researching her family genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Lois (George) Mensinger. Survivors include her husband, Lamar Hamby of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Karen Hamby of Jackson, Todd and Lan Hamby of Oxford; sisters, Mary Clay of Social Circle, Carletta Griffiths of Conyers; grandchildren, Brandon, Ariel, Heather, Wyatt, Jaden; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mrs. Hamby will be held Sunday, June 3, 2012, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Vicar Lynne O'Shea officiating, and interment following in Social Circle City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, June 2, from 6:00-8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church, 2375 Highway 20, Conyers, GA 30012.
