Brenda M. Mason, age 74, of Covington, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harry "Mac" and Lillie Belle McDaniel. Survivors include her husband, Neil M. Mason; daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Tommy Thomas of Covington; son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Rhonda Mason of Roswell; four grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter Thomas, Taylor and Tanner Mason; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bobby Ward of Bogart; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Brenda was a dedicated employee of Snapping Shoals EMC for 37 years and served on the board of directors for 15 years. She enjoyed reading and traveling, which included her love for visiting casinos. Additionally, she cherished the closeness and time she shared with family. She was an active participant with several civic organizations in Newton County.
Friends may visit with the family Sunday, February 7, 2016, from 3:00 - 6:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington. Flowers are accepted, or contributions may be made in Mrs. Mason's memory, to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605; or the American Lung Association, 2452 Spring Road, Smyrna, GA 30080.
