Carol Stewart Griffith of Eatonton, passed away October 17, 2017, at 68 years of age. Among her favorite pastimes were doing puzzle books, watching Family Feud with Steve Harvey - as well as the Steve Wilkos Show, shopping, and listening to songs performed by Trace Atkins and Elvis. Mrs. Griffith especially loved Christmas time. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Andrew Jackson Griffith, Sr.; parents, Norman and Mary Bell (Brown) Stewart; sister, Catherine Milburn; brothers, Claude Stewart, Clarence Stewart.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Tracy Harn of Covington, Cynthia and Gary McDuffie of Irwinton; sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew Griffith, Jr. and Ernestine Phillips, Michael Lee Griffith and Lilian Brown, all of Covington; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlton Stewart, Churchill and Alice Stewart of Gainesville, Curtis and Gail Stewart of Rutledge, Chester Stewart, also of Rutledge, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Griffith will be held Friday, October 20, 2017, 11:00 AM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Minister Rebekah Ali officiating. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Cemetery in Gratis, GA. Friends are invited to visit with the family, at the funeral home, Thursday, October 19, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
