Carolyn (Tommy) Edge of Covington passed away December 4, 2013, at Newton Medical Center at the age of 67. Mrs. Edge was employed by Harper's 5 & 10 Cent Store during the 1970's. Whiile her children were in school, Mrs. Edge worked as a substitute teacher for Newton County Board of Education, mainly at E.L. Ficquitt. She also worked for Walmart for 5 years after her substitute teaching. Mrs. Edge attended Flat Creek Baptist Church in Rabun County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be remembered as mother to all the children in her neighborhood, who nicknamed her "Tommy." Mrs. Edge was preceded in death by her parents, Finis and Minnie (Brock) Gragg; siblings, Arvil Gragg, Terrell Gragg, Betty Holland, and Margie Gragg.

Mrs. Edge is survived by her husband, Larry M. Edge of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Jody Lanier and Toni Navada Edge of Covington, Stacy and Jody Louise Edge of Mansfield; sisters, Janie Lida, Geneva Gragg, Tina Lovell; brothers, Johnny Gragg, Finis Gragg, Jr., Dale Gragg, Clifford Gragg; Jimmy Gragg, Richard Gragg; granddaughters, Daphane Taylor and Alexis Edge; Lauren Anthony and husband, Dan; great-grandchildren, Carson Anthony, Macen Taylor, Annie Caroline Anthony, Ella Kate Anthony, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Saturday, December 7, 2013, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Toys for Tots, Newton County Sheriff's Department, 15151 Alcovy Road, Covington, Georgia, 30014.
