Carrie Inez Wilson, of Covington, passed away September 27, 2013, at the age of 91. She devoted her life to her family and her God. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Newton Baptist Church and the Ambassadors Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cross stitch, embroidery, quilting, tending to her flowers and writing. A fabulous cook, she was famous for her fried peach pies. Collecting porcelain dolls was a hobby that brought her much joy. She had many friends and loved making people laugh. She retired from Edwards Middle School, but had previously worked in textiles. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Britt Wilson; and daughter, Wanda Jane Nichols.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Maggie and Herman Bradford of Covington, Annie Laura Wilson of Oxford, Patsy Lodge, Mary Alice and Duane Criswell, Kathy Standridge, all of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles Douglas and Birgit Wilson, Thomas Eugene and Rachel Wilson, all of Conyers, Timothy Britt Wilson of Covington; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Lula Spivey of Loganville, Sara Ann and Billy Leach of Good Hope; brother and sisters-in-law, George and Margaret Goss of Lawrenceville, Jo Ann Goss, Ella Ruth Goss, both of Covington; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilson will be held Monday, September 30, 2013, 11:00 AM, at Newton Baptist Church, 720 Jack Neely Road, in Covington, with Pastor Tony Howeth and Pastor Casey Bradford officiating, and interment following in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Sunday, September 29, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. Flowers accepted, or donations may be made to Newton Baptist Church Building Fund, 720 Jack Neely Road, Covington, Georgia, 30016.
