Charles Joseph "Cj" Parker

Charles Joseph "CJ" Parker of Covington, passed away April 11, 2010, at the age of 86. Mr. Parker was a member of Jersey United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.  He was a farmer, and loved working with his livestock. Mr. Parker enjoyed gardening and collecting knives and antiques, but most important to him was God and his family.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Conner and Mehetabel (Mobley) Parker; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Wiley) Parker, daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Steven Lansburg of Lexington, SC; son, Garrett Parker of Covington; grandchildren, Margaret Ruth Lansburg, Joseph Sherwood Lansburg, both of Lexington, SC; brother, Edward Parker of Griffin. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010, 4:00 PM, at Jersey United Methodist Church, 115 Jersey-Social Circle Rd., Covington, with Rev. Ricci Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall one hour prior to his service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jersey United Methodist Church, PO Box 197, Jersey, GA 30018.
