Charles Roger Simpson

Charles Roger Simpson of Covington, passed away July 8, 2011, at the age of 68. Mr. Simpson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served as a hospital corpsman from 1961-1965. He was a 1961 graduate of Newton County High School; and retired, from Bellsouth, after 35 years of dedicated service. Mr. Simpson was active in Jaycees and the VFW. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan, and enjoyed Nascar racing. Mr. Simpson spent most of his adult life in Palm Beach, FL; but returned to the Cartersville/Calhoun area, in 2003, and to Covington in 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis (Cox) Simpson; his parents, Walter Thomas and Ozelene (Breedlove) Simpson; and his brothers, Tommy Simpson and Larry Simpson.Survivors include his daughter, Michele Simpson of Fayetteville; son, David Simpson of West Palm Beach, FL; sister, Regina Daniel of Covington; grandchildren, Candace Ramsey, Shyanne Ramsey; and his nephew, Shane Daniel.A Memorial Service for Mr. Simpson will be held at a later date.
