Charles Michael Waller, of Covington, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at the age of 82. Mr. Waller was a country boy from Reynolds who accomplished more than he had ever dreamed possible. He was foremost a family man, a people person, a man of integrity, and proud of his work. His name is mentioned on several patents for medical devices. Mr. Waller started at Abbott Laboratories where he was recognized as top salesman. He was recruited to be Regional Manager for Surgikos, a Johnson & Johnson company. He was then promoted to the home office at Surgikos in Arlington, Texas. Then C.R. Bard recruited him to be Director of Marketing and lastly, was recruited as President of Tissue Science Laboratories of North America. Mr. Waller was very accomplished and recognized for his work, marketing medical devices in the area of urology and was salesman of the year with Surgikos. In addition to his amazing work ethic, he was a member of the Lions Club where he was a past President, a member of the Kiwanis, and the Gideons International where he enjoyed visiting military bases to give Bibles to service members deploying. Mr. Waller was an active member of churches in the various cities where he lived. He also enjoyed teaching Sunday School at First United Methodist and First Baptist, being outdoors, hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Waller; daughter, Amy Waller; and parents, Elmo and Nell Waller.
Survivors include his wife, Kikky Waller; daughters, Dana Green (Paul), Kelley Green; grandchildren, Michael Green, Hannah Pitts (Quin), Taylor Sloss (Russell), Andrew Green (Kayla), Parker Green, Emily Felton (Misha), Noah Green (Margaret Bermudez), Shelley Ibañez (Josue), Kailey Baxter (Braden), Ethan Green (Liane), Deacon Green (Sarah), Levi Green; great-grandchildren, Aliyah Green, Harper Pitts, Ana Green, Alivia Green, Jensen Sloss, Gideon Pitts, Bella Felton, Evie Baxter, Elias Green, Felicity Pitts, Killian Sloss; brother, Tim Waller (LuAnne); step-children, Lucy Newton (Eric Albert), Ben Newton (Elizabeth), Lindy Gallagher (Jack); as well as step-grandchildren, Mary Camp Newton, Sutherland Newton, Ridley Newton, Naia Albert, Bunk Newton, Helen Albert, Ward Gallagher, Evie Gallagher, Hank Gallagher.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Waller will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Covington, 1139 Usher Street, in Covington, with Dr. Cody McNutt officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
