Charlotte V. Foster of Covington died April 17, 2012 at her home in Covington. Born in Oak Hill, WV, Mrs. Foster was 95 years of age at the time of her death. During WWII she and her husband worked in the Goodyear Defense Plant in Akron, OH, which manufactured PT fighters. After the war they went back to West Virginia and during the following years they lived in Grants, NM and Yuma, AZ. They had lived in Georgia since 1972. Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelby Sue Foster; parents, Jacob and Elizabeth (Smith) Styers. She was the last of seven children, four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Franklin R. and Carmen Foster of Covington, and Gary and Gloria Foster of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Frank Foster, Jr., Peter Foster, Carla Foster Johnson, Sue Foster Waller, Dawn Foster Stroh; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Foster will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Edd Johnson officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.
