Christine Mary Brooks

Christine Mary Brooks of Social Circle, passed away after a short illness surrounded by her loving family, Monday, February 17, 2020, at the age of 76. Mrs. Brooks was a faithful member of The Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. She was a dedicated nurse for many years at Athens Regional Hospital before retiring. Mrs. Brooks had a special place in her heart for animals and enjoyed knitting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Doris Gunns; sister, Peggy Lowe; and brother, Patrick Gunns.

Christine is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Steve C. Brooks; her four children, Rosemary Pizza (former husband, Vincent), Mark Brooks (wife, Dawn), Amy Stevens (husband, Mark), Russell Brooks (wife, Stacey); grandchildren, Zachary Pizza, Matthew Stevens, Isabella Pizza, Madison, Jenna Claire and Connor; several nieces and nephews; as well as furbabies, Pippa, Tiddles and Chester.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Brooks will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) https://secure.aspca.org/donate/donate or the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
