Christopher Michael Davenport

Christopher Michael Davenport, of Covington, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the age of 34. Chris was a very compassionate man and never met a stranger. He loved racing and ventured into racing for many years. Chris enjoyed watching football and was a dedicated fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He liked completing puzzles and was a wonderful cook. Chris took great joy in spending time outdoors and traveling to the mountains. Additionally, he treasured spending time with his dad and cousin going trout fishing. Chris adored his family and cherished the memories made with them dearly. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Ann Martin; paternal grandparents, Curtis and Ophelia Davenport; and father-in-law, Stephen Deal.

He is survived by his wife, Abby Davenport; parents, Mike and Gwen Davenport; and sister and brother-in-law, Jessie and Ricky Griffith; brother and sister-in-law, Zack and Gina Deal; niece, Hadleigh Griffith; nephews, Tanner Griffith, Waylon Deal; and mother-in-law, Brenda Deal.

A Funeral Service for Chris will be held Monday, September 18, 2023, 3:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Tim Davenport officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to his service from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.
