Clyde James Cole, Jr. of Milledgeville, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the age of 86. Born and raised in Wadesboro, North Carolina, Mr. Cole Proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, in Korea, and was an iron worker for many years. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was fishing or hunting and was an avid sports fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team and NASCAR. Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his wife, Myra Cole; parents, Clyde, Sr., and Martha Cole; sister, Louise Lineberry, Patsy Gaffney; Doris Henry; brothers, Ray Cole, Leon Cole, Richard Cole.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Pete Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Shannan Cole; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Billy Meeks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service for Mr. Cole will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2020, 1:00 P.M. at Lawnwood Memorial Park, in Covington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Georgia War Veterans Home, in Milledgeville, 2249 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, Ga 31061.
