Corine Johnson Mcelveen

Access RoadCorine Johnson McElveen of Augusta, formerly of Covington, passed away September 6, 2011, at the age of 86. Mrs. McElveen was a member of First Baptist Church, in Covington, and was Office Manager for a medical practice for 20 years. She was an avid reader and would check out eight books a week from the local library. She enjoyed eating desserts, and loved her grandchildren dearly. Mrs. McElveen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. McElveen; her son, Gregg McElveen; and her parents, William and Susie (Brooks) Johnson.Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Billiter of Augusta; son and daughter-in-law, Darryl R. and Mead McElveen of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Cody Billiter, Kelly Billiter, Reese, and his wife, Lindsay McElveen, Riley, and her husband, Nate Sittema, Travis McElveen; several nieces and nephews.Funeral Services for Mrs. McElveen will be held Friday, September 9, 2011, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Charles Reynolds officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 8, from 6-8 PM.
