Curtis Addison Smith, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the age of 82. Mr. Smith proudly served his country and was a Coast Guard Veteran. He was born on October 1, 1941, to the late Addison and Leola Smith, and graduated from Fayette County High School, Class of 1959. Mr. Smith was the Vice President and General Manager of Williams Brothers Lumber Company and Vice President and General Manager of Georgia Lumber Company, Inc. He was Baptized at the age of 10 and will be remembered for being a true friend, patriot, and lumberman. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Addison and Leola Smith; and daughter, Kimberley Smith Lowe. He was also preceded in death by his long-time love, June Knight, his “Blondie.”
He is survived by his son, Mark Addison Smith and his husband, Erik Gernand of Chicago, IL; daughter, Traci Knight Ramey and her husband, Edgar Ramey of Buckhead, GA; grandson, Harrison Lowe of Athens, GA; brother, Bobby Smith and his partner, Cindy Crane of Fayetteville, GA.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Smith will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home one hour prior to his service, from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.
