“Grandma Daisey” was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and considered it a blessing to pray for each family member by name every morning. She was steadfast in her faith and a beloved member of her church and community. She was generous with her love, time and affection and modeled what it meant to live with grace and speak with kindness and compassion. She greeted everyone with a smile and “Well, hey!”, and nothing brought her more joy than time with her family. She was a wonderful cook and will be fondly remembered, by many, for her cakes. Birthdays and holidays were best celebrated with one of Grandma Daisey’s cakes!
To the many who knew her as Mrs. Daisey, she was a loyal friend who put the needs of others first. Her quiet strength provided comfort and support in times of struggle, and her infectious laughter brought happiness in times of celebration for friends and family alike. As a dedicated employee of Oxford Manufacturing for 25 years, she perfected her seamstress skills, and those skills, combined with her love of sewing, provided beautiful dresses and quilts for family and friends.
Mrs. Jeffries was a faithful member of Julia A Porter United Methodist Church. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest living female member of the church. She proudly served the UMW organization and was an active member of the Porterdale Women’s Club.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Jeffries will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Roger Cato officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 700, Porterdale, GA 30070.
