Dan Conley of Covington passed away Monday, August 3, 2020, at the age of 73. Mr. Conley proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired from AT&T after 33 years. Dedicated and faithful, he was a member of Canaan Baptist Church since 1991, where he was incredibly involved at - teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, singing in the Choir and helping with the live streaming. Mr. Conley enjoyed many hobbies and was a champion at chili cook-offs, cornhole and ice cream. But most of all, he loved his Lord, family and especially his granddaughters. Mr. Conley was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch Layne and Opal Marie (McGill) Conley; sisters, Patricia, Linda; and brother, Chuck.
Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Ellen Conley; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Tony Bales; son and daughter-in-law, Layne and JeLesa Conley; grandchildren, Natasha, Elizabeth, Evelyn Rose; great-grandchild, Rayden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Conley will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020, 7:00 P.M., at Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, in Covington, with Pastor Billy Ingram officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M. Interment will be held at D’Iberville Memorial Park, 11041 Gorenflo Road, D’Iberville, MS 39540. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 Westpark Drive, Suite C, Athens, GA 30606.
