Danny Allen Parkes, of Covington, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at the age of 72. Mr. Parkes was a devout Christian and member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a talented woodworker that enjoyed making things for others and never wanted anything in return for his work. Mr. Parkes loved people and making them laugh with his sense of humor. He liked antique cars and riding in his golf cart. Mr. Parkes cherished his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother, Esther Brady; and father, Joe Parkes.
Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Donna Parkes; daughters, Amanda Huggins (James), Ashley Wheeler (Charles), Angela Hayes (T.J.); son, Tom White (Kelly); grandchildren, Cheyenne Huggins, Lisa Huggins, Daniel Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, T.J. White, Lyla White, Braydon Hayes; beloved friend, Sim Campbell; as well as other loving family members.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Parkes will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 10 Almon Church Road, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Wadley officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family, prior to his service, at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Building Fund, 10 Almon Church Road, Covington, Georgia 30014.
