Mary Darlene Britt passed away on February 21, 2025 at the age of 72. Born on February 3rd, 1953. Mrs. Britt was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her life was marked by her deep love for family and her unwavering selflessness.
Mrs. Britt was known for her kind and giving nature, always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. She found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment with them. Her love for family was also reflected in the many cherished memories made during family gatherings, especially at Christmas, where she created warm traditions.
A lover of literature and music, Mrs. Britt was a talented singer-songwriter, known for writing her own poems and songs that reflected her heart and soul. Her passion for Elvis Presley was a defining feature of her musical taste, and she enjoyed listening to his timeless tunes. She also found great joy in shopping, particularly at yard sales, where she could often be found treasure hunting for unique finds.
Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Kenneth Britt; her parents, Louie Mote and Gladys Moss; her granddaughter, Monica Keelie Britt; and seven siblings.
She leaves behind her children, Scottie and Joanna Britt, Stevie and Sonya Britt, and Nicholas Britt. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Natasia and Nicholas Cruze, Sabrina and Devin Greene, Kristinea Britt and Joey Wheelis, Tabitha Britt and Lee Martin, Kayla Goodenough, Angel Jones, Nicholas Britt Jr., Chyanne Jones, Cori Harms and Dustin Bennett, and Sarah Bragg; as well as 14 great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Britt will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Tuesday, February 25, 2025, 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Though she has left this world, the love and memories she shared with those closest to her will remain in their hearts forever.
