David Byrd

David Byrd, of Covington, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the age of 86. Mr. Byrd proudly served in the National Guard for 6 years. A Deacon and Sunday School teacher at his church, he was a strong Christian man who shared his faith with others. His Faith and his family were most important to him. Mr. Byrd was a member of the Toastmasters International. He enjoyed woodcarving and woodworking and liked to carve animals, birds, swings, benches, vases and decks. He was a skilled craftsman. In addition, he liked to play tennis, travel, raise Japanese Maples and other plants, and was a Georgia Bulldog fan. Mr. Byrd loved his family dearly and had lots of close friends who would always support each other.

Survivors include his loving wife, Linda Byrd; children, Alicia Lindsey (Greg), Susan Moss (Todd); grandson, Tristan Moss; brother, Donald Byrd (Joan); as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mr. Byrd will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023, 3:00 P.M., at High Point Baptist Church, 12025 Highway 36, in Covington, with Pastor Rick Darby officiating and interment following in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family, at the church, two hours prior to his service, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.,
