David "Dave" Smith

David Ross Smith, fondly known by those who loved him as Dave, embraced a life filled with kindness and generosity from the moment he was born on August 7th, 1952, in Fort Valley, Georgia, until his peaceful passing on June 6th, 2024, in Conyers, Georgia. Dave is remembered for his unwavering commitment to his faith, family, and the countless hearts he touched with his selflessness. Predeceased by his parents, Leroy Smith and Joyce Matthews, as well as his sister and brother, Sharon Goodwin, Steve Smith; Dave's legacy continues through his adoring wife of 52 years, Jeanie Smith; his loving daughter, Andrea, and her husband John Cudzilo; his son, Tim, and his wife Tammie Smith; his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Hayley, Mallorey Cudzilo, JD Smith, Hollie Smith, and Landon Smith; as well as his brothers, Ricky and his wife Beverly Smith, and Bruce and his wife Helen Smith. His numerous nieces and nephews also cherish the memory of their kind-hearted uncle. Dave's professional journey as a Sales Engineer spanned many years and telecommunication companies. His unwavering dedication extended beyond his work as he was deeply involved with the Haynes Creek Baptist Church, where he served as an elder and found joy in uplifting his community through numerous mission projects with the bold mission builders. A wonderful husband and father, he was the epitome of dedication and love within his family. Dave's grandchildren were the center of his universe, a source of immense pride and joy. Each moment spent with them was treasured, and those memories now offer comfort to his family and friends. Dave's life was a testament to the words that best described him - kind, generous, and selfless. His warm spirit and readiness to lend a helping hand created a ripple of positivity that will continue to resonate through the lives of those he's touched. Dave's influence and the love he shared will be missed profoundly but will live on in the hearts of many.

A Memorial Visitation for Dave will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Conyers Georgia 2100 GA - 138, Conyers GA 30013 on June 15, 2024, at 11: A.M. with Pastor Travis Deans, Tom Covington and Ken Wynn officiating.
