Diane Sweat

Diane Sweat, age 76 of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025. Diane was born on November 9th, 1948, in Atlanta GA, and grew up in Stone Mountain, GA.

She was in the first graduating class of Berkmar High School where she enjoyed playing basketball and spoke of it often throughout her life. She met the love of her life (Bill Sweat) in 1978; three years later Diane and Bill were married on November 14th, 1981. Diane loved spending time with Bill camping in the Smoky Mtns.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 44 years; Bill Sweat; son Bryan Sweat; son and daughter-in-law, Eric (Lisa) Sweat; son and daughter-in-law, Terry (Cathy) Sweat; son Gary Sweat; brother and sister-in-law Alvin (Shirley) Smith, sister and brother-in-law Donna (Lee) Wilson. Sixteen grandchildren, Kelsey, Logan, Madie, Ally, Lily, Nikki, Billy, Randy, John, Sally, Gary Jr., Jamie, Zach, Leigha, Christina, and Cassandra. Twenty-three great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude James and Frances Louella Smith, and sisters, Barbara, and Brenda Smith.

Visitation for Diane will be held on Sunday, March 2nd. 2025 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA. 30014. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, at 2 PM at The Baptist Tabernacle, 10119 Access Road, Covington, GA. 30014 with graveside service immediately following at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, Covington, GA. 30014.
