Diane J. Wren, 68, of Covington died January 15, 2011 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. Mrs. Wren loved the Lord and was a member of High Point Baptist Church. In her prior years she was very involved with helping the children in her church, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir in Macon. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was an avid reader. Mrs. Wren was a very good cook and had a collection of recipe books. She loved her dogs, Solemen and Prissy, but most important to her was her family. Mrs. Wren is preceded in death by her parents Nellie Beatrice Steele and Curtis Lee Johnson, and a sister, June Rowland.
Mrs. Wren is survived by her husband, Walter Andrew Wren of Covington; daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Dan Harris of Macon; sons and daughter-in-law, James Wren of Mauk, GA, William and Crystal Wren of Macon; sister, Frances Henderson of Covington; 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Charles Rowland of Tucker.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wren will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 17, 2011, at High Point Baptist Church in Covington with Rev. Walter Turner officiating and interment following at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M.
