Don Herron, of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the age of 63. He enjoyed working in the yard, attending car shows, and going to the beach with his family. A United States Army Veteran, he served his country in Vietnam. Don was a wonderful husband, father and proud grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pauline (Surgener) Herron.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 42 years, Brenda Herron; sons and daughters-in-law, Donny and Robin Herron of Covington; Bobby and Beverly Herron of Oxford; grandchildren, Tommy Herron and Haley Herron; sister, Sandra Anders of Lawrenceville; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Chris Herron of Tampa, FL; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Herron will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Rev. Jeff Perkins officiating, and inurnment following in the Memory Chapel Mausoleum at Lawnwood Memorial Park. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30605. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, May 27, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
