Access RoadDonald Frank Davenport, Sr., of Loganville, passed away December 7, 2011, at the age of 68. Mr. Davenport was a veteran of the United States Army; and retired, from Brown Trucking, after 30 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing golf, collecting novelties, and going to the local flea market. Mr. Davenport loved his family dearly, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Chapel) Stone; father, Oscar Columbus Davenport; sister, Christine Davenport; and his brother, Grady Davenport.Survivors include his wife, Effie Mae Davenport of Loganville; daughters and sons-in-law, Dot Davenport Rodriguez of Tybee Island, GA, Donna and Danny Todd of Walling, TN, Melody and Steve McCard of Monticello, Pamela and Stevie Holt of Conyers, Christy Davenport of Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Donald, Jr., and Michaela Davenport of Covington; grandchildren, Edward (Buzzy) Waldron, Kayla Thompson, Holly Holbrooks, Ashley Davenport, Andrew Steward, Kristy Berry, Joshua Holt, Leonora Holt, Ashli Holt, Daniel Todd, Dawn Gallow, Luke McCard; great-grandchildren, Emily and Hunter Thompson, Josten Meeler, Anjelina Harper, Andrew, Grace, and Carson Berry, Chandler Hall, Owen Holt, Cadence Gallow, Emmalyn Gallow; sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene Stokes, Alice and David Davis, all of McDonough, Jessie Mae Medina of Stockbridge; brothers and sister-in-law, Roy and Alice Davenport of McDonough, Curtis Davenport, of Covington.
Funeral Services for Mr. Davenport will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011, 3:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 14, from 5:00-8:00 PM.
