Donald P. Hopkins

Donald P. Hopkins, 79, of Covington, passed away May 17, 2011, at Newton Medical Center in Covington. He was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church and will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Mr. Hopkins was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Cook, and parents, Fred Thomas Hopkins, Sr. and Mamie Sue Hopkins Duvall .
Mr. Hopkins is survived by his wife Emily LaRue Hopkins of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Kenneth Watts of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Stephanie Cook of McDonough, Donny and Julie Hopkins of Mansfield, Mr. & Mrs. Christopher Hopkins of FL; 6 grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Billie Sue and Sammy Bowen of Madison; brothers and sister-in-law, Fred and Sandra Hopkins, James Duvall, all of Covington; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Hopkins will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011, 3:00 P.M., at Lovejoy United Methodist Church in Covington, with Rev. Sammy Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday, from 2 - 3 P.M.
