Donald Gene Smith "Red"

Donald Gene Smith “Red” was born on June 10, 1940, and entered Heaven on February 20, 2022. Mr. Smith took great joy in sitting under his carport and tell stories to whoever would stop and sit awhile. He had a special place in his heart for his farm and the critters that lived there. Mr. Smith always checked on Chubby the squirrel, deer, and all the turkeys on the farm. Additionally, he had a very special duck, Igor, that he fed and cared for many years that belonged to his dear friends Bill and Sally Jordan. Mr. Smith loved Bull of the Woods Chewing Tobacco. He was often found enjoying a country ham biscuit, red eye gravy, and coffee from Mamies Kitchen or an egg, ham, and cheese omelet, hashbrowns and coffee from Waffle House. They were his favorite places to eat. Mr. Smith was dearly loved and will be missed by so many friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Sandra; children, Jeff & Aundie Duckett, of Kennesaw, Wade & Joleen Duckett, of San Diego, California, Debbie & Jim Smith, of Maysville, Cindy Smith, of Bethlehem, Beth Bortuit, of Jersey; grandchildren, Austin Duckett, of Carrollton, Abbie & Cooper Murphy, of Dallas, Patrick Duckett, of Kennesaw; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and his devoted dog, Maxie.
