Dora "Deedy" Dianne (Shaw) Pate

January 13, 1955 — October 20, 2022

Dora “Deedy” Dianne (Shaw) Pate, 67, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2022, surrounded by family, and loved ones in Eagle, Colorado. Daughter of Marion Bernys Shaw and Annie Lucille Ivey Shaw. Deedy was born in Porterdale, GA on January 13, 1955. She was predeceased by her parents, MB and Lucille, sister Nadia Ann Coody and is survived by her brother William Marion (Billy) Shaw and his wife Sherry; her sister Molly Kay Coggin and her husband Steve, deceased; brother George Philip (Phil) Shaw and his wife Richie; her daughter Kelly Pate Moser; her grandchildren, Colton and Beckett Moser; Geoff Moser, loving father to her grandsons and her significant other, Gerald Harper who has been by her side every step of the way.

Deedy grew up in Covington, GA, and graduated from Newton County High School where she was a cheerleader. She received a bachelor’s degree in Education from North Georgia College in Dahlonega GA. Following college, she married and had a daughter, Kelly, and pursued her career in purchasing and procurement. Kelly was Deedy’s everything and their bond was stronger than Georgia Pine. She moved to Eagle, CO in 2012 to be closer to Kelly and “the boys,” Colton and Beckett, who affectionately nicknamed her, Grandee. Deedy loved her grandsons very much and was their biggest cheerleader at every school and sporting event. From football and baseball to skiing and ice hockey, Grandee was always there cheering on her “boys.”

Deedy/Grandee became a beloved member of the community, regularly attending church and visiting with friends at her favorite restaurants, Luigi’s and The Boneyard while watching and cheering for another true love of hers, the Denver Broncos, especially Demaryius Thomas.

Deedy was known to wear purple, her favorite, and she was a Southern Belle to the core with an infectious smile that would light up the room. She loved the holidays, particularly Christmas, keeping her tree up year-round only changing the decorations with every new holiday. She loved her dad’s alma mater, Georgia Tech, and equally loved teasing her daughter, Kelly, a graduate of the University of Georgia, that the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets were better.

Memorial services are planned for Sunday, October 30th at 3 P.M., at Grace Fellowship Church located at 525 McGregor Dr., Gypsum, CO, with reception to follow at The Boneyard located in Eagle Ranch, CO.
