Doris Messick, of Covington, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019, at 84 years of age. A true example of a Christian woman, Mrs. Messick's daily life spoke to her deep faith in God. She was a supportive and vital member of Full Gospel Holiness Church, in Walnut Grove, and was a past member of the Richlands Tabernacle before moving to Georgia. Mrs. Messick adored her family and enjoyed, more than anything, being surrounded by her loved ones. Her favorite saying, "We're making memories", reflected the happiness she felt when spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Mrs. Messick was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Lula (Davidson) Whitt; and sisters, Dolores Cordle, Frances Crouse.
Mrs. Messick's memory will live on in the hearts of many, especially her devoted husband of 64 years, Glen Messick; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Greg Baldwin; grandchildren, Jordan and Missy Cyphers, Leah and Calvin Smith, Lesha Cyphers; great-grandchildren, Bryson Mast, Samuel Cyphers; sister, Margaret Hicks; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Carolyn Whitt; step-grandchildren, Aaron Baldwin, Jon Baldwin, Jennifer Marin; step-great-grandchildren, Emma, Jaida, Jameson, Joella, Isaac, Jillian; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Messick will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2019, 10:30 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Greg Baldwin, Pastor Larry Carter, and Pastor Rick Whitt officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Chapel Mausoleum, in Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home, Monday, November 25, from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M.
