Dorothy "Dotty" Childs

Dorothy "Dotty" Childs of Porterdale, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019, at the age of 83. Ms. Childs was a faithful member of Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church of Porterdale. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading. Ms. Childs loved her family dearly - especially her nieces and nephews who she treated as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents, Snooks and Mary Lou Childs; brothers, Jack Childs and Charlie Childs.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Tim Hopkins; niece, DeeAnn Weber; nephews, Pete Peters, Wes Peters, Joey Peters; as well as many close cousins.

A Memorial Service for Ms. Childs will be held Sunday, December 29, 2019, 2:00 P.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Jim Berry officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home, two hours prior to her service, from 12 Noon - 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Julia A. Porter United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 700, Porterdale, GA 30070.
