Dorothy Lyons

Dorothy Lyons, of Covington, GA, formerly of Bluff City, TN, passed away November 29, 2014, at the age of 76. Mrs. Lyons loved her family and spending time with them. In addition she enjoyed working in her garden. Before his death, Mrs. Lyons loved spending as much time as she could with her husband. She was preceded in death by Earl (Bud) Lyons, her husband of 47 years; daughter, Melissa Sue Lyons; and parents, Millard L. and Beulah (McCrary) Taylor.

Mrs. Lyons is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Donnie Boone, Pam Simmons; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy Lyons, Danny and Toni Lyons, Earl, Jr. and Christy Lyons; grandchildren, Myranda Lyons, Gabi Lyons, Stacy McMillan, Courtney Boone, Alan Lyons, Ashley Lyons, Brittany Simmons, Dale Simmons, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jackson Lowe, Braelynn Simmons, Braxton and Cullen McMillan; sisters, Naomi Lyons, Louise Watson; brothers, Bob Taylor, Alf Taylor; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lyons will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington with Rev. Jeffrey Cantrell officiating and interment following in Eastview Cemetery in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 1, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.
