Doyal "D.L." Head

Access RoadDoyal "D.L." Head of Covington, passed away September 7, 2011, at the age of 81. Mr. Head was a veteran of the United States Army, and worked as a photographer for the Covington News. He enjoyed his work as a photographer, as well as gardening, fishing, hunting, traveling, and tinkering with just about anything. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather; and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Colter) Head; his parents, Doyal Lee, Sr., and Grace (Clayton) Head; and his sister, Elizabeth Wheeless.Survivors include his daughter, Cindy Head of Covington; sons and daughters-in-law, Archie and Deborah Head of Covington, Michael and Cynthia Head of Loganville; grandchildren, Jeff Head, Jason Head, Nicole Head Swart, and her husband, Anthony Swart, Tyler Head; great-grandson, Avery Head; sister, LaTrelle Wallace of Newborn; brothers, Rev. Eugene Head of Snellville, Levi Clayton Head of Shady Dale.Funeral Services for Mr. Head will be held Friday, September 9, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Rev. Gene Head, Jr., officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 8, from 6-8 P.M.
